Hi All
I have an elderly relative in a remote part of India. His hearing has deteriorated over the last two/three years. He can still clearly on the phone but face to face conversation is a bit difficult without raising your voice and repeating yourself.
I would like to send him a hearing aid to improve his situation but do not have the faintest idea of where to start or what to look for.
What are the good reliable hearing aid brands/models which i can trust in the UK? Or am I better off getting him one from India?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello Data
Hearing aids (as defined under various statutes) can only be supplied on 'prescription'. You cannot buy these off-the-shelf. Your relative would be well advised to arrange for a hearing test locally with a fully qualified audiologist, who will then make recommendations for a solution as appropriate.

Try this site: www.hearingdirect.com - your relative can try a free hearing check on-line or you can order him a hearing aid for him to try and have it delivered directly to him with full instructions and he can return it free with his/your money back up to 30 days afterwards if it doesn't help

Starkey Laboratories have a manufacturing facility in India, they list authorised resellers on their website http://starkeyindia....alers/index.php, worth a look!
